FAQ’s
The Learn, Grow and Play Program by KLAY is a school readiness program for children in the age group of 2.5 to 6 years that equips them with the knowledge, skills and behavior required to participate and succeed in school.
The program is ideal for children in the age group of 2.5 years to 6 years who will be going to school for the very first time (Mainstream or Preschool). The program will also support children who have had a break in their learning or haven’t been a part of a structured learning program in the last 1-1.5 years.

The end goal of this program is to ease the child’s transition into the new academic year.
Unfortunately no. However, it will set the basic foundations for literacy and numeracy and make them socially, emotionally and cognitively ready for school. Our aim through this school readiness program besides making your child’s transition into school stress free, is to also build 21st century skills of collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking and independence.
You can opt for in-centre (Starting from 1st April, 2022), online or at-home formats under the program. The curriculum will be the same across all our formats. However, the learning dimensions might differ slightly depending on the format you choose.
Yes, of course. Under the learning pod model, in the at-home format, 2 or more children can come together to be a part of this school readiness program that will give them a teaser into what life in a physical school will be like. Parents will need to speak to other parents near their homes to get 2-4 children for the class. The batches will be according to the age group of the children. The program is also a great way to transition your child from an at-home learning program to a physical school in the next academic year.
The teacher : child ratio is 1:12 for the online format of the program.
The learning dimensions and their weightage will differ slightly depending on the format chosen. For example, under the in-centre format, or the at-home format (if parents opt for the learning pod model), children can develop their social and emotional skills better than through the online format.

The Learn, Grow and Play Program is spread across 4 months and 2 levels, each level being 2 months each. The program will help nurture a child’s social, emotional, personal, physical, communication and cognitive skills. The program will also equip the child with the knowledge, skills and behavior that will enable him/her to participate, succeed and be happy in school.

There are 2 levels under the program. Each level will be completed in 2 months.
Level 1
  • Introduction of 8 sounds.
  • Introduction of numbers 1-5 and pre-math concepts.
  • Learning to follow instructions and routines.
  • Opportunities for meaningful play, experimentation and discovery.
  • Sensorial activities, colouring and doodling.
Level 2
  • Introduction of 10 sounds.
  • Introduction of numbers 6-9 and 0
  • Activity-based focus will be on self-regulation, sensory processing, receptive language, understanding, expressive language (using language) articulation, and  executive functions (high order reasoning).
  • Scissor skills, sensorial activities and the holding of writing tools.

Yes, all children who complete level 1 or level 2 of the course will get a certificate of completion. However, if for some reason your child is able to attend only a month of the program, they will only get a certificate of participation. At the end of the program, we will also be having a culmination day to celebrate and discuss the child’s milestones and dimensions covered.

Yes, you can. However, please note that the modules are spread across 2 levels while every month comes with its own theme, the child will not be able to benefit fully from the program if taken only 1 month. A minimum of 2 months or 1 level is recommended for the child.
