– The intrinsic value of childhood & growth as a human being that lies at the core of Finnish ECEC
– The life skills of learning for life, not for school that form the foundation of Finland’s early childhood education system
– The Finnish Pedagogy that starts when the first child enters the kindergarten and ends when the last child leaves.
About Roosa Järvinen
Roosa Järvinen has many years of experience in working as a teacher in early childhood education and in primary schools in Finland. She has worked in China and trained Chinese teachers. Roosa has worked as a kindergarten manager in Finland and has now strong interest in developing her educational leadership skills. Roosa’s specialty areas are health and physical education. Roosa is in charge of the pedagogy and teacher training programs in FINE.
With children out of school, physical distancing as the new norm, and children’s rights under threat, the new world order has “turned back the clock” on years of progress made on children’s well-being. However, it’s not all bad. As a human race, we’ve been built to adapt: we’ve seen a tipping point in technology-enabled education and the promise of a new education policy in our country.
