Prof. Vrinda. Datta has just completed her term as the Director of Center for Early Childhood Education and Development (CECED) at Ambedkar University Delhi in 2020. Till 2015 she was Professor at the School of Human Ecology, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She is also the President of the Association for Early Childhood Education and Development (AECED). Prof. Datta has a PhD in Human Development and has worked on issues of quality in early childhood programs, teacher training, and its impact of early childhood programs on children’s development. She has many publications to her credit and was selected as a Global Leader from India by the World forum Foundation. She is also the recipient of Senior Fulbright Research Fellowship to USA in 2007.
With children out of school, physical distancing as the new norm, and children’s rights under threat, the new world order has “turned back the clock” on years of progress made on children’s well-being. However, it’s not all bad. As a human race, we’ve been built to adapt: we’ve seen a tipping point in technology-enabled education and the promise of a new education policy in our country.
