“Fatherhood for me is another stage of life which is no better or worse than any other stage in a man’s life. It’s work but it’s joyful work. My bond with her starts from the minute she wakes up in the morning. When she was younger she had to be walked around and I used to sing to her in order to make her sleep, now she sleeps much faster. My wife and I miss those days because we would consider it as an accomplishment if one of us put her to sleep. It took me some time to accept the changes I would have to make around the house and in my personality in order to ensure comfort, safety and a better upbringing for my child. Initially, I would hesitate taking care of the baby chores when my wife was not around but now I don’t dread it, instead, I’ve actually started enjoying it. Right from putting her to sleep for her mid-morning naps to cleaning the house while she is asleep and have it messed up an hour later when she wakes up, bathing her, feeding her, playing with her, reading her books, and making sure that she is never bored. Every moment spent with her is pure joy! having a child is not like how some people make it sound like, ‘It’s a lot of work, your life will change, you won’t have time for yourself,’ yes all of that is true to some extent but you also get something in return which is priceless and precious than any temporary possession you have had so far. Having a child is truly a blessing for your own evolution as a human being.”
